Netball NSW – Update on Season 2020
The Board and Management of Netball NSW have been continuing to closely monitor developments with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic since their Memo entitled “Netball NSW Covid-19 Response” issued on 16 March 2020. They have now provided a further status update to the NSW netball community.
Netball NSW has continued their scenario planning to prepare for what the 2020 season might look like subject to the status of the public health advice by certain milestones. Everyone would appreciate that there is still a lot we do not know about how Australia may be impacted by this pandemic moving forward, and how all tiers of Government may need to respond.

Note : Prepare a cup of tea ……
In short and in relation to Club Netball only ….
- Netball NSW have modelled a Season starting on 18 July 2020 after the NSW School Holidays
- Training could in theory commence after Monday 29 June – dependent on the sunset clause on current Social Distancing Laws.
- They will update everyone again on 21 June – or sooner, should social distancing laws be amended before then.
For the moment there is no netball until after 29 June – training included. We wish it could be sooner but everyone’s health – within and outside of the Netball Community – is paramount right now.
We expect we will hear from MWNA in the coming days and will update you with any information from them as we receive it.
